danemartin: Hello, friends! I am trying a something little different on this crisp Spring evening. As some of you may know, I have been living with my parents in recent days, with few prospects on the horizon. I live in a secluded semi-rural area with limited options for jobs… meaning there are only a handful of fast food restaurants and janitor jobs and I’ve applied to all of them with no results. You might notice that I have been drawing with a pencil a lot lately, because, quite simply, I have run out of pens and I have no way of purchasing more.SO — I have decided, after months of decision, to put up a donation box. In exchange for your donation of any size, I will send to you, via e-mail, a special computer folder containing 400 pages of comics I have drawn since 2008. There are no drawings or doodles or sketchbook pages in the folder — just comics, and I have tried to be selective. Many of you have been asking if there is a way to read a large selection of my comics in print, and while that is limited at the moment (due to funds), this is a temporary solution. I would put the comics in a PDF, but a ZIP file seems to be a more manageable way of reading this many pages. You can click around and read stories at your leisure. Any donation would be more appreciated than you will ever know. Any bit you can spare — one dollar or a million — would help immensely. Any money received would go towards purchasing art supplies (pens, bristol), or helping towards moving to a place where I can function in a much easier way… meaning more comics to read in the future. It would also help towards printing minicomics (of new work not seen in the PDF). Any and all donations received would improve my life.I’m not planning on offering this huge selection of work any other way. Most of it has not been posted on Tumblr before. I have decided to go this route instead of a Kickstarter because I wanted to give everyone an immediate “reward” for their kindness.I am also planning on starting an original art shop soon, with pictures of each “piece,” full of drawings and comics pages.
